"Home Court" Documentary Premieres on PBS
I worked on a really fun project toward the end of last year. The good folks from Indie Lens Pop-Up reached out about writing the engagement guide for "Home Court," a film about Ashley Chea, a high school (now in college) basketball player and daughter of Cambodian refugees. A Cambodian rising star basketball player? From a refugee family? An engagement guide geared toward youth? And they want to highlight the intersectionality and significance of all those things? Immediately, I said, "I'm interested." I had to figure out a couple things capacity-wise... but yes.

The team, the filmmakers, and the advisors were all really great to work with. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with some of them again. I was an advisor for the engagement guide for the PBS premiere of "The Donut King" some years ago. All in all, the film is excellent, this was a rewarding experience, and I'm really proud of how the guide turned out (shout-out to the guide designer, because this is gorgeous).
"Home Court" premieres March 24, 2025 on PBS. The engagement guide can be accessed below.
